Worship & Arts
Mission: To exalt the Lord, to facilitate Christian worship
in its various forms, to make worship the central focus of our Christian
community and to demonstrate godly, Christ-centered worship to all
of Dublin and beyond.
“Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship
the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.” Psalm 29:2
In
addition to preaching God’s Word, the worship services
at NPC are a blended style of worship, including traditional hymns
and readings mixed with praise songs and responses. There are
many facets to the Worship & Arts ministry at NPC some of these
include:
The Worship Choir leads the church in exalting
the Lord during Sunday Worship two Sundays each month and at special
seasonal services, between September and May.
Worship Team is an auditioned group of
musicians drawn from the congregation at-large and vocalists drawn
from the Worship Choir. The musical focus of Sunday Worship year-round
is driven by this group, which also rehearses during the week and
at special times of the year, such as Easter and Christmas services.
Studio 23 is the drama ministry of Northwest
Presbyterian Church. Studio 23 seeks to exalt Christ through creative,
dramatic arts. Studio 23, which derives its name from the 23rd Psalm,
believes that drama brings the story of Christ to life, engages the
senses of performers and audience alike, and moves the Christian
community to deeper faith, while challenging and inviting those outside
that community to enter into relationship with Christ. Studio 23
produces performances such as the Christmas and Spring Productions,
and conducts a Summer Drama Camp for children and youth.
Stillwater Girls’ Choir sings inspirational
music geared for younger audiences. The group, which is not auditioned
and made up of middle and high school girls, rehearses during the
summer and sings in Sunday Worship on occasion and during special
services and events.
Technical Teams support Sunday Worship
and Special Events. These include sound console operators and sound
technicians, video and slide operators, and lighting and stage crews
during special performances.
